Face recognition is a technology that has been around for decades. The first time it was used in an access control system was in the 1980s. However, even with all this time and progress, there are still many challenges to overcome. One of these challenges is that it is not always easy to tell if someone is wearing a mask or not.

The Mask Detection Function in Access Control System has been created to solve this problem by using Virdi UBio X-Face TS which can detect a person’s face without the need for them to be looking at the camera or smiling. This allows the system to detect whether someone is wearing a mask and then take appropriate action depending on what it finds out.
